1)Why did the author create the society based on money and selfishness? · I think the author created the society based on money and selfishness to show how materialistic people are and how selfish we are becoming. I think the author based the society on this to teach us a lesson that money isn’t everything and to warn us to stop being so materialistic or bad things can happen. For example, in the book everyone wants to buy the new expensive Nikes and people end up getting killed over them. This shows how materialistic societies are becoming and if we aren’t careful our society will become like the one in Jennifer Government. 2)What is the theme of the book? · I think the theme of the book is money can't buy happiness. The author shows this with the character Buy Mitsui who has a fancy apartment, nice things, and a lot of money, but is not happy at all. Another character the author uses to show this is Hayley McDonald who thought that buying the new Nikes would make her popular and extremely happy, but it ended up getting her killed. I think the author chose this as the theme to try and show us that we should not become materialistic and should focus on other things in life. 3)Why does Billy NRA ignore Jennifer Government when she is trying to help him? · In my opinion, I think that Billy ignored Jennifer because he is very stubborn and doesn’t think things through before he does it. I also think he ignored her because he doesn’t know how to let people help him and doesn’t know how to trust people, I think the author included him because throughout the story he shows how corrupt their society is. 4)Does Kate know who her father is? Why does Jennifer hide it from Kate? · I don’t think that Kate knows who her father is and I think that is sad. I think that Jennifer hides who it is from Kate to protect her. If I was Jennifer I would do the same thing to protect Kate because her father, John Nike, is a horrible person who doesn’t care about anyone except himself. 5)Why is Hack Nike such a pushover? · I think Hack is such a pushover because he just wants to please everyone and not hurt anyone's feelings. I also think he is a pushover because he lets people pressure him. For example he lets John Nike pressure him into signing the contract without reading it. He also lets Violet pressure him into doing things like going to the police and running away to her sister's house.
